Salon Suisse
Throwback to the 3 weekends of s l o w

The Salon Suisse 2019 ' s l o w ' presented three long weekends of events, talks and cultural happenings alongside collaborators including artists, art historians, performers, musicians, cooks, choreographers, medical doctors and others.

Beginning at the biennale's launch in May, the Salon Suisse supplements the Swiss Pavilion continuining throughout the duration of the biennale.

In September with 'Accelerating', the Salon questioned the dialectical partner to slowness: speed. In October, 'Grounding', offered an opportunity to re-connect with idleness, through hypnosis. Finally in November, the Salon Suisse 2019 concluded with 'Resisting', which looks to deceleration as a rebellious act against productivism.

Highlights included a collaborative discussion with Swiss Pavilion 2019 artist duo Pauline Boudry / Renate Lorenz and curator Charlotte Laubard, tea ceremonies, lazy practices, speed-gardening a closing slow dance party.
