In this respect, the art system has always served as a perfect sparring partner. However in the last decades an entire industry of creativity has emerged in the post-industrial societies. Freewheeling thought experiments and avant-garde mentality have become assets in the economy. What does this mean with regard to the hate/love-relationship between art and capitalism? Is capitalism losing art as its sparring partner and entering an era of shadow boxing?
